Welcome! My name is Tina Karimi and I am an Afghan-American Marriage and Family Therapist. I am passionate about working with couples and adults from various backgrounds who are seeking to improve the quality of their lives and relationships. My goal is to help you identify your needs, gain insight through processing, and make the necessary changes with the appropriate tools. My approach is gentle, supportive, and collaborative. I have extensive experience working with couples facing relationship challenges and individuals with symptoms of anxiety and depression due to trauma.
I specialize in evidence based models such as the Gottman Method, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
I promise to create a safe space for you by always being open minded, empathetic, nonjudgemental, and understanding. I will always encourage you to be your authentic self, and support you through the challenges you are facing. You should be proud of yourself for taking this step towards self care and prioritizing your mental health. I am honored to be welcomed into your life and to work alongside you to reach your goals!
